The designer’s toolset has changed. Complex prototypes are no longer a separate skill. AI now takes part in ideation, design systems, tokens, and components, so the path from an idea to a working web version is shorter.
The designer is closer to production, while taste and understanding what is possible matter more. There is still a lot to try and a large creative coding backlog. Below are a few personal projects that helped me learn this new toolset.
